About this Content
Aims
Develop a VR training program to enhance pharmacy staff’s ability to process prescriptions safely and accurately.
Background
Traditional OJT in pharmacy faced challenges: labor intensity, trainer availability, and lack of timely feedback.
Methods
Developed Project VRx, a 5-stage virtual reality simulation for prescription processing; real-time feedback via training dashboard.
Results
88% of participants found VR engaging and easy to use; 68% said it enhanced skills; 48% found VR training more interactive than traditional methods.
Conclusion
VR technology effectively trains pharmacy staff in processing prescriptions and medication orders with real-time feedback.
Lessons Learnt
Team communication and engagement with developers were key; VR successfully engaged younger learners and reduced trainer workload.
