Aims
Validate the 12-item WHODAS 2.0 for measuring functional disability among schizophrenia patients in Singapore.
Background
WHODAS 2.0 replaces the Global Assessment of Functioning scale in DSM-5; Singapore-specific validation is limited.
Methods
Cross-sectional study with 189 schizophrenia patients; confirmatory factor analysis and other statistical tests performed to validate WHODAS 2.0.
Results
WHODAS 2.0 demonstrated strong internal consistency, validity, and reliability for functional disability assessment.
Conclusion
WHODAS 2.0 is validated as an effective tool for assessing functional disability in schizophrenia in Singapore.
Lessons Learnt
WHODAS 2.0 is a practical and robust tool for functional assessment and can be used for health service evaluation.
