About this Content
Aims
Improve vaccination workflow efficiency and expand the role of nurses in virtual coaching for HealthierSG@Schools initiatives.
Background
The previous vaccination workflow required three nurses per student, leading to inefficiencies, duplication, and increased errors. Weight management programs for overweight children also faced a high dropout rate due to scheduling conflicts.
Methods
Streamlined vaccination workflow by reducing nursing redundancy, improving accountability, and integrating a virtual coaching program for weight management.
Results
Achieved a 14% productivity gain in morning vaccination sessions and a 28% gain from virtual coaching. 13,879 students were vaccinated with zero medication errors in nine months.
Conclusion
The streamlined process reduced vaccination errors and increased efficiency. Future plans include sustaining gains through regular audits and stakeholder engagement.
Lessons Learnt
Workflow redesign improves efficiency, accountability, and scalability for preventive health programs.
