About this Content
Aims
Develop a system to identify persons exposed to infectious diseases and detect clusters promptly.
Background
COVID-19 highlighted the need for better tools in contact tracing and disease detection in complex hospital settings.
Methods
Developed the 3D-DOSS prototype to map spatial representations of inpatient movements and exposures. Risk modeling applied using clinical and environmental data.
Results
Detected an influenza cluster of 10 patients in Nov 2018 and mapped contacts (44 primary, 162 secondary) for a COVID-19 case.
Conclusion
Digital Twin systems improve infection prevention, cluster detection, and outbreak preparedness planning.
Lessons Learnt
Digital tools enable early intervention, preventing onward disease transmission and enhancing preparedness.
