TTSH Pharmacy implemented RPA in various divisions, including Procurement, Supply Chain, Billing, and Informatics, to enhance operational efficiency.
Methods
Implemented RPA for material code creation, medication billing, and automated SMS notifications for pharmacy dispensing.
Results
Achieved 5,602 hours saved annually, with cost savings of $187,158. Billing processes were streamlined, and patient queue communication was automated.
Conclusion
Successfully automated 22 pharmacy workflows, improving accuracy, efficiency, and cost savings. Plans for expansion include broader automation of pharmacy operations.
Lessons Learnt
Staff upskilling and internal development of RPA programmers ensured sustainability. Adoption across multiple pharmacy divisions was key to success.
