Aims
Redefine inpatient care with patient-centric bedside tablets, improving efficiency and experience for patients and nurses.
Background
Increased workload and aging population demand care process redesign; bedside tablets provide self-service options to patients.
Methods
Utilized PDCA cycle with design thinking, process mapping, and pilot deployments across multiple wards in SGH, KKH, CGH, and NHCS.
Results
Saved 50% of nurse time on self-help processes; 60% of patients adopted mobility devices; 89% rated bedside orientation videos as “Good.”
Conclusion
Redesigned care improved efficiency, empowered patients, and enhanced satisfaction for both patients and nurses.
Lessons Learnt
Commitment, teamwork, and collaboration across institutions were critical to success.
