To ensure 100% of elective surgical procedure approval letters are received before the next TCU.
Background
Low approval rates caused treatment delays, security risks, and patient-doctor frustration.
Methods
Implemented PDSAs: calls to prisons, fax workflows, and weekly emails.
Results
Approval rates increased to 100% with the third PDSA (email-based workflow), maintained for 4 months.
Conclusion
Automated and centralized workflows reduce delays and improve compliance.
Lessons Learnt
Centralized communication and simplified workflows significantly improve efficiency.
