About this Content
Aims
To achieve 30% man-hours saving using Ultrasonic Assisted Wound (UAW) Debridement
Background
Many traditional wound debridement processes were time-consuming. This project aimed to implement UAW for faster debridement and reduce man-hours spent on wound care.
Methods
Training nurses, procuring UAW machines, implementing a standard protocol for UAW debridement, tracking time saved from the procedure
Results
Reduced procedure time per wound from 30 minutes to 10 minutes; 50% of man-hours saved
Conclusion
The UAW debridement project achieved its goal of reducing time spent on wound care and improving efficiency in the clinical setting
Lessons Learnt
Appropriate use of medical devices can reduce cost, increase efficiency, and save man-hours for staff, while improving patient care quality.
