Aims
To enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost efficiency by streamlining the preparation of daily surgical consumables.
Background
OT consumables preparation was inefficient, leading to workload challenges and expired items.
Methods
Implemented the Stagger Team (ST) Trolley after two PDCA cycles to centralize consumables preparation and ensure commonly used items were accessible.
Results
Reduced preparation time for consumables by 400%, eliminated expired items, and improved inventory management.
Conclusion
The ST Trolley increased efficiency, reduced workload, and ensured cost-effective and quality care delivery.
Lessons Learnt
Centralizing workflows and adopting FIFO practices significantly improve resource utilization and efficiency.
