Aims
To improve mental well-being through vocational training and therapy for St. Andrew's Nursing Home residents.
Background
Chronic mental health issues impede self-esteem and occupational engagement.
Methods
Developed progress levels, therapy, and internal/external job placements.
Results
Increased worker residents from 22 to 64, with improved mental health for 42 out of 59. Occupational hours increased by 447%.
Conclusion
Vocational rehabilitation fosters purposeful engagement and better mental health outcomes.
Lessons Learnt
Structured vocational programs empower residents, enhancing mental health and self-esteem.
