Aims
Regain strength post-COVID infection and improve activation levels for better quality living.
Background
COVID-19 caused functional decline and social isolation; aimed to improve quality of life for nursing home residents.
Methods
Developed two programs: 10-week PoCOFIT focusing on strength and an 8-week Let’s MEET for psychosocial engagement based on VdTMoCA.
Results
80% improvement in physical function (PoCOFIT); 91% positive engagement in Let’s MEET activities, with significant improvement in mood and social interaction.
Conclusion
The initiative successfully demonstrated improved engagement and recovery post-COVID and is scalable across other nursing homes.
Lessons Learnt
Programs require constant modification to address challenges; scaling and customization for nursing home profiles are essential.
