Aims
Improve resident well-being during COVID-19 by engaging them in tailored activities.
Background
COVID-19 confined residents to beds, increasing behavioral and fall incidences due to lack of engagement.
Methods
Introduced SAFE program, scheduled daily activities, and trained therapy aides to implement and track progress.
Results
Improved Abbreviated Mental Test (AMT) and Well-Being Profile (WBP) scores; reduced falls and behavioral issues.
Conclusion
SAFE activities enhanced resident well-being and staff morale while reducing adverse events.
Lessons Learnt
Leisure and engagement can significantly improve mental health and reduce fall incidents.
