About this Content
Aims
Achieve 70% compliance in Modified Barthel Index (MBI) data completion for stroke patients at NTFGH.
Background
MBI is critical for functional recovery tracking and care placement but compliance was only 52%, below NTFGH's 100% target.
Methods
Introduced blanket referrals, MBI re-orientation training, standardised work processes, inter-rater reliability testing, and improved workflows.
Results
Compliance improved from 52% to 71%; total time saved: 300 minutes/month. Staff responded positively to workflow standardisation and training.
Conclusion
Standardised processes improved MBI compliance; the model can be adopted for other disciplines and MOH One-Rehab plans.
Lessons Learnt
Collaboration, clear workflows, and multidisciplinary teamwork are essential for achieving data compliance and improving efficiency.
