About this Content
Aims
The project aimed to address inefficiencies in patient education by digitalizing educational materials to improve retention and reduce environmental and financial costs.
Background
Patient education was traditionally facilitated through hardcopy brochures, which were often misplaced and ineffective, leading to environmental and financial costs.
Methods
The project involved digitalizing Patient Education Brochures into QR codes and hyperlinks, integrating them into NGEMR and the NUHS mobile app, and conducting trials with feedback from stakeholders.
Results
The project reduced paper usage by 55.4%, saved $23,056 annually, and improved patient satisfaction with 97.1% preferring digital materials.
Conclusion
Digitalizing patient education materials improved accessibility, retention, and satisfaction while aligning with sustainability goals.
