Rising nursing workload driven by an aging population required innovation to optimize processes and improve efficiency.

Methods

Conducted Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles, design thinking workshops, and stakeholder engagements; developed NSS iPads for patient care communication.

Results

Reduced nurses' time spent on call-bell requests; patients gained access to results, schedules, and care requests directly.

Conclusion

NSS empowers patients, improves care coordination, reduces manual tasks, and enhances nursing efficiency.

Lessons Learnt

Focus on patients’ needs, staff feedback, and iterative testing ensures success; technology adoption drives improvement.
