Aims
Deploy SIA cabin crew as Care Ambassadors to assist SGH nursing staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Background
Cabin crew were redeployed to healthcare settings under the Job Support Scheme during the pandemic.
Methods
Customized a 5-day training program to equip cabin crew with foundational nursing knowledge and caregiving skills.
Results
132 cabin crew were trained and deployed to inpatient wards, supporting nursing staff and improving patient care outcomes.
Conclusion
The collaboration demonstrated the adaptability of resources during the pandemic, bridging gaps in healthcare staffing.
Lessons Learnt
Collaborative efforts and tailored training programs enable smooth transitions to new roles during crises.
