Aims
To improve communication with patients and their next-of-kin, enhancing care delivery.
Background
SCH’s diverse workforce highlighted communication barriers requiring solutions for better patient care.
Methods
Developed a three-stage eLearning module with interactive activities and audio translations in Malay and Chinese.
Results
56% of staff accessed the module, averaging 8 hours of learning. Average quiz scores: General (90%), Rehabilitation (92%), Nursing (91%).
Conclusion
The module enhanced staff confidence in communication, fostering better care delivery. Plans to expand to dialect translations.
Lessons Learnt
Interactive eLearning modules effectively support language proficiency and better patient engagement.
