About this Content
Aims
Enhance the quality of dementia day care by implementing the Temi robot as an assistant, addressing challenges such as daily activity assistance, welcoming clients, and medication reminders.
Background
Temi is an interactive robot programmed to assist dementia clients in therapeutic exercises, cognitive games, and daily routine reminders.
Methods
Staff observed interactions to identify gaps in personalized attention. Training was provided for care staff, nurses, and coordinators to integrate Temi into the care workflow. Facial recognition was implemented for personalized greetings.
Results
Post-implementation, there was a significant increase in client engagement, improved well-being, reduced caregiver burden, and better medication adherence.
Conclusion
Temi has proven effective in improving client engagement and well-being. Future efforts will focus on expanding its implementation in dementia and active aging centers.
Lessons Learnt
Personalized interactions and cognitive stimulation enhance dementia care. Integrating AI assistants can improve care delivery and staff efficiency.
