Aims
To terminate under-utilized telecommunication equipment that consumes electricity unnecessarily.
Background
Many telecom devices (e.g., fax machines, terminals) were on standby mode, consuming energy and incurring costs.
Methods
Reviewed telecom usage, engaged stakeholders, and terminated under-utilized lines and devices.
Results
Removed 26 terminals and 50 fax lines, saving 2,023kWh annually and $30,880 in costs. Recycled old devices and reduced office clutter.
Conclusion
Telecommunication waste reduction contributes significantly to operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Lessons Learnt
Proactive review and stakeholder engagement drive impactful cost and energy savings.
