To reduce sterile crepe bandage usage from 20,332 to 10,166 within 6 months.
Background
High consumption of sterile bandages increased costs and waste.
Methods
Changed SOP to non-sterile bandages, created storage, and conducted staff training.
Results
Reduced usage by 57% (to 8,744), achieving cost savings of $19,805.25 and aligning with green goals.
Conclusion
Adoption of non-sterile bandages reduced costs, met sustainability goals, and maintained patient safety.
Lessons Learnt
SOP and training effectively optimized bandage usage and reduced environmental impact.
