About this Content
Aims
To transform Lean training delivery from classroom-based sessions to a scalable, efficient Microlearning platform.
Background
Training capacity was limited, requiring 91.25 workdays annually for classroom sessions. Manual coordination and logistics efforts compounded inefficiencies.
Methods
Converted Lean training (DOWNTIME and 6S) into Microlearning modules accessible anytime. Added Virtual Reality for experiential learning and included post-course feedback loops.
Results
299 staff completed the course by Dec 2020, with a projected total of 546 by Jun 2021. Productivity savings exceeded 80 man-days annually. Staff rated training effectiveness highly (93%).
Conclusion
Microlearning increased efficiency, reach, and learning retention, reducing administrative overheads and enabling scalability across the Central Health network.
Lessons Learnt
Transitioning trainers to coaches post-pandemic was delayed but ongoing. Continuous feedback ensures iterative improvements to learning content.
Additional Information
Awarded 2020 HIP Best Practice Medal – Workforce Transformation. Scalable model planned for community partners via AIC LMS.
