Developed and implemented an evidence-based clinical algorithm for PT call-outs; trained consultants to support junior PTs.

Results

Reduced inappropriate attended call-outs by 53%; saved $11,360 annually in man-hours and transport costs; improved staff stress levels.

Conclusion

New call-out system ensures sustainable delivery of emergency PT services without increasing costs.

Lessons Learnt

Engaging stakeholders early and gathering feedback fosters buy-in and minimizes resistance to change.
