Aims
To improve patients’ satisfaction rate on the new patient gown from 50% to 80% and nurses’ satisfaction on functionality from 50% to 80% within 6 months.
Background
The previous patient gown caused confusion and difficulties with invasive line access and compromised modesty during ambulation.
Methods
Redesigned patient gowns addressing root causes, such as ties and sleeve accessibility, based on prioritization criteria.
Results
Surveys showed satisfaction rates increased from 50% to over 80% among patients and nurses; improvements were statistically significant (p < 0.05).
Conclusion
The redesign improved satisfaction, safety, and workflow efficiency, demonstrating the importance of patient and staff-centered innovation.
Lessons Learnt
Collaboration between departments ensures successful redesigns; clear communication and guidance enhance adoption.
