About this Content
Aims
Explore residents' unmet needs, increase meaningful activities from 4 to 8, and raise resident engagement from 40% to 60% by Q1 2024.
Background
The Clubhouse Model has been effective for over 65 years in psychosocial rehabilitation. At St. Andrew’s Nursing Home (Buangkok), existing psychosocial activities lacked resident input, leading to low participation.
Methods
A needs assessment with 150 residents identified key unmet needs. The adapted Clubhouse Model introduced structured programs, peer support, and expanded activities.
Results
The goal of increasing meaningful activities was surpassed, reaching 13 activities. Resident engagement rose to 78% by Q3 2023, exceeding the initial 60% target.
Conclusion
Future efforts will focus on expanding ward-based activities, improving partnerships, and continually refining programs based on resident feedback.
Lessons Learnt
Resident-driven engagement increases participation. Expanding volunteer support and training Clubhouse members for leadership roles ensures sustainability.
