To measure the changes in attitudes and practices of medical professionals in the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology after attending the SUF seminar.
Background
Fear of retribution, hierarchy, and lack of organizational support often hindered communication for patient safety.
Methods
Conducted "Speaking Up for Safety" seminars to address barriers and foster open communication for safety practices.
Results
Willingness to raise concerns increased to 95%, supported by management backing and institutional initiatives.
Conclusion
Respectful and assertive communication breaks down barriers and unites healthcare teams towards patient safety.
Lessons Learnt
Changing organizational culture requires senior staff role modeling and continuous messaging.
