Background
The Meals on Wheels (MOW) program faced inefficiencies due to silo operations, long delivery routes, and manpower shortages.
Methods
Reallocated clients to nearby centers, implemented a Fleet Management System, cross-trained staff, and optimized workflows.
Results
Mileage reduced by 29% (768km), saving 7.66g CO₂ per meal; delivery times improved with 20 hours saved/vehicle over 3 months.
Conclusion
Lean methodology enhanced productivity, reduced carbon emissions, and improved resilience.
Lessons Learnt
Lean models and resource optimization improved operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.
