Aims
Improve care for Suicidal Risk (SR) patients to ensure they receive appropriate care.
Background
SR patients often experienced gaps in care due to delays in identification and management.
Methods
Implemented a multi-disciplinary approach, early identification via tagging in BMS, and enhanced Code Violent processes.
Results
Increased appropriate care received by SR patients from 19% to 100% over the course of the project.
Conclusion
This project has successfully improved care for SR patients by providing early intervention, staff education, and the adoption of technology to track patient movements.
Lessons Learnt
Fostering collaboration between medical, nursing, and security teams enhanced the management of SR patients and improved their outcomes.
