Aims
Achieve zero deterioration of Stage II pressure injuries and below with full or partial recovery.
Background
There was a significant increase in hospital-acquired pressure injuries (HAPI) in Ward B9 Subsidised, affecting patient recovery and hospital satisfaction.
Methods
Standardized workflows for managing pressure injuries, including regular audits, staff education, and use of preventive measures.
Results
Achieved a reduction in pressure injury worsening to 9%, with zero recurrence from healed injuries.
Conclusion
The project resulted in improved management of pressure injuries and significant savings in care costs.
Lessons Learnt
Standardizing care practices, conducting regular audits, and empowering staff helped improve patient outcomes.
