Aims
Reduce late admissions to less than 3% by enabling virtual pre-registration for early morning admissions.
Background
Peak-hour bottlenecks led to 4.2% of patients arriving with less than 60 minutes to prepare for procedures.
Methods
Developed a virtual pre-registration process (PreReg@Home) using Zoom and appointment scheduling.
Results
Late admissions reduced to 1.8%; wait times decreased by 62%, with sustained improvements into 2023.
Conclusion
PreReg@Home successfully reduced admission delays, improved patient satisfaction, and staff engagement.
Lessons Learnt
Technology adoption and cross-department collaboration are critical to enhancing patient workflows.
