Aims
To enhance participants' mental, social, and physical well-being through plant/nature-based activities.
Background
The program is designed for the elderly, persons with dementia, and other special needs, and is implemented in every Community of Care in the Central and North districts of Singapore.
Methods
The program includes workshops, courses, and activities such as rock painting, leaf printing, and plant propagation, facilitated by trained professionals.
Results
The first virtual COP session attracted a diverse audience of over 350 participants, indicating strong interest and engagement.
Conclusion
Therapeutic horticulture is embraced by diverse community organizations for clients' well-being, promoting positive social and environmental connections.
Lessons Learnt
Activities can be adapted for persons of different abilities, and the program can be implemented regardless of space or weather conditions.
