SGH Audiology saw increasing hearing aid repairs, consuming clinical resources and prolonging patient wait times.
Methods
Implemented vendor repair services via contractual agreements, patient education, and phased adoption.
Results
Reduced repairs at SGH by 61% from 2019 to 2022; repair-related visits reduced by 50%, and patient satisfaction improved.
Conclusion
The initiative improved workflow efficiency and patient care and is now adopted nationwide.
Lessons Learnt
Vendor partnerships and phased implementations are effective for system changes.
