About this Content
Aims
Find the perception of paired learning in speech therapy fresh graduates.
Background
TTSH actively recruits speech therapists to serve an ageing population, requiring effective learning methods for fresh graduates.
Methods
Conducted an online survey with 9 fresh graduates who joined TTSH in 2017, using a 5-point Likert scale and open-ended questions.
Results
100% of respondents benefited from observing peers and peer feedback; however, 25% found paired learning stressful, and 12.5% reported insufficient CE support.
Conclusion
Paired learning will continue but with refinements to address challenges such as stress and reliance on peers.
Lessons Learnt
Individual sessions towards the end of training may help learners achieve full competency; addressing different learning styles enhances learning diversity.
