About this Content
Aims
Investigate patients’ satisfaction with PMD use for MRADLs and identify challenges.
Background
PMDs are increasingly popular as mobility aids. The study seeks to evaluate satisfaction and challenges associated with their use post-occupational therapy.
Methods
Functional Mobility Assessment (FMA) before and after PMD use.
Results
Satisfaction with MRADLs increased from 66.7% to 88.8%. Improvements were observed in comfort, reach, and health needs but were limited in personal care and transportation.
Conclusion
Environmental barriers and limited PMD skills affect satisfaction. Occupational therapists should focus on training in community mobility and advocate for accessible environments.
Lessons Learnt
Consistent follow-ups improve assessment accuracy. Challenges include procurement timelines and ensuring post-intervention assessments.
Additional Information
Recognized as providing insights into PMD benefits and challenges; further studies are needed for stronger evidence.
