Aims
Develop a streamlined enterprise solution to improve the ordering and fulfillment process of non-standard consumables, reducing turnaround time and increasing efficiency.
Background
Manual ordering methods led to inefficiencies such as long turnaround times, transcription errors, missed billings, and inventory issues. A Lean study in 2012 showed peak turnaround times reached up to 6 hours.
Methods
Collaborated with Synapxe to develop a bespoke Order Management System (OMS) tailored to CGH’s needs. Utilized Agile methodology to ensure continuous feedback and improvements.
Results
Ordering and fulfillment efficiency improved, significantly reducing turnaround time. A 6-month evaluation showed 98.2% of users found OMS easy to use, and 85.5% reported time savings.
Conclusion
OMS has successfully streamlined the supply process and will be expanded across other SingHealth institutions.
Lessons Learnt
Agile methodology enhances responsiveness to evolving user needs. Strong collaboration with vendors ensures smooth execution and issue resolution.
