Aims
Train OTTAs to enhance their role and meet Major OT needs within six months.
Background
OTTAs were primarily responsible for equipment prep but needed enhanced roles in patient care and surgical support.
Methods
Lectures, demonstrations, and supervised clinical practice using adult learning principles.
Results
OTTAs gained confidence and efficiency; three promoted to OT Technician roles; six more trained.
Conclusion
Expanded training pipeline for OTTAs addressed workforce crunch and enhanced patient safety in OT.
Lessons Learnt
Supportive training culture, preceptor guidance, and feedback cycles improved outcomes.
