Aims
To explore the mental well-being and risk factors for post-injury depression and anxiety among Singaporean workers.
Background
Work injuries significantly affect mental health, with 62% of migrant workers showing serious mental illness; data on Singaporean workers was lacking.
Methods
Cross-sectional surveys using PHQ-9 and GAD-7 questionnaires.
Results
50% of participants experienced depression and anxiety, with no significant correlation to age, gender, or marital status.
Conclusion
Targeted mental health support is necessary to mitigate post-injury depression and anxiety.
Lessons Learnt
Early screening and consistent mental health monitoring improve recovery outcomes.
