Eliminate manual calls to patients, reduce manpower reliance, optimize resources, and promote Health Buddy use.
Background
COVID-19 increased prescription extensions by 150%, burdening staff with phone calls to coordinate medication orders.
Methods
Implemented Health Buddy app for automated medication orders; sent SMS reminders to patients; integrated PHIS and Health Buddy systems.
Results
Achieved 92% manpower savings; quadrupled Health Buddy uptake for medication orders (from 254 to 1113 monthly).
Conclusion
Health Buddy streamlined medication orders, improved patient experience, and optimized resource use.
Lessons Learnt
Automation reduces manual workload; phased implementation and PDSA cycles ensure user adoption and system efficiency.
