Background
High volumes of safekeeping bags in ED due to visitation restrictions caused inefficiencies and longer retrieval times.
Methods
Conducted PDSA cycles to address pain points, improve communication, and streamline storage workflows.
Results
Reduced bag volume by 48.1%, retrieval time from 3 minutes to 1.5 minutes; improved workflow ownership among PSAs.
Conclusion
Streamlined safekeeping workflows improved efficiency and patient service quality significantly.
Lessons Learnt
Clear communication, teamwork, and empowering PSAs drive process improvements effectively.
