About this Content
Aims
Identify latent classes of individuals with adverse childhood experiences and their interactions with psychological and behavioral factors.
Background
Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are highly variable and understudied in relation to long-term impacts on mental and physical health.
Methods
Latent class analysis of 4,441 participants; socio-demographic data, ACEs, and psychological resources evaluated using R and Mplus statistical software.
Results
Identified three classes of ACE profiles: Low Adversities (86.2%), Emotionally Neglected and Bullied (7.6%), and Multiple Adversities (6.1%). Significant mental health and behavioral differences were noted across classes.
Conclusion
Person-centered approaches and ACE profiling provide valuable insights for trauma-focused, tailored interventions.
Lessons Learnt
Interventions targeting social support and positive mental health can mitigate suicidality risks associated with ACEs.
