Manual food labeling caused errors, ink fading, sticker tearing, and adhesive residue issues, risking food safety and traceability.
Methods
Developed waterproof, non-residue, color-coded stickers with vendor collaboration; implemented reference guides and staff training.
Results
Improved traceability to 100%; zero stickers disposed of in 3 months; saved $5,112/year with reduced relabeling efforts.
Conclusion
Standardized processes and innovative solutions significantly improved food traceability and safety.
Lessons Learnt
Simple tools like waterproof stickers combined with training saved time and reduced food safety risks.
