Aims
To design a low maintenance and sustainable location for therapeutic activities for seniors within Potong Pasir neighbourhood | Including nursing home residents, senior care centre clients, and active aging members
Background
To develop a wellness garden that engages seniors in therapeutic horticultural activities and fosters social engagement
Methods
Collaborating with an urban farmer to create a self-sustaining garden; the team expanded in April 2023 to include active aging members for plant selection
Results
Launched in July 2023, the garden is providing seniors with a space for therapeutic activities; plans for expansion are in progress
Conclusion
The wellness garden initiative enhances senior participation and aims to provide ongoing therapeutic benefits; plans to expand garden space and create a community event
