Aims
To tap on SCC client’s meaningful and cultural occupation to engage a wider group of community seniors
Background
To enhance the occupational performance and engagement of participants, creating a sense of community and fostering social support
Methods
Involving community seniors in a donation drive by making vegetarian dumplings for sale
Results
578 dumplings sold, raised $3,009; average of 22 to 24 participants per production day, with each participating for 2-6 hours
Conclusion
Successful donation drive, plans for future collaborations to sustain this initiative
Lessons Learnt
New friendships formed, a strong sense of community was developed, and participants expressed fulfillment in giving back to the community
