Aims
To provide bed bath services using portable inflatable basins for bedbound patients whose caregivers cannot provide personal hygiene.
Background
Bedbound patients faced poor skin integrity and discomfort, necessitating innovative hygiene solutions.
Methods
Conducted 198 bed bath sessions with portable inflatable basins, reducing strain on caregivers and patients.
Results
14 caregivers reported improved patient skin integrity; 10 observed less discomfort; reduced back pain among caregivers; increased mood and satisfaction among patients.
Conclusion
Inflatable bed baths are effective in improving hygiene and quality of life for bedbound patients, with potential for broader adoption.
Lessons Learnt
Portable solutions enhance care efficiency and improve patient quality of life.
