Aims
Improve the user-friendliness score of the JH FoodLg app from 0.42 to 0.84 points by March 2019.
Background
The JH FoodLg app, part of the LIVEN lifestyle program, had low usability and compliance due to user frustration.
Methods
Enhanced the app with a “forget password” feature, refresh button, free-text input, bug fixes, and simplified dashboards based on user feedback.
Results
User-friendliness score improved from 0.42 to 1.46 points, exceeding the initial target. User compliance also improved.
Conclusion
The enhanced JH FoodLg app achieved usability improvements, improving user satisfaction and compliance.
Lessons Learnt
Continuous engagement with end-users is critical for sustained improvement; updates must be tested thoroughly to avoid bugs.
