Aims
To streamline the caregiver (CG) nomination process, empower CGs for self-nomination, and improve workflow efficiency.
Background
Existing processes for CG nomination in paediatric wards were tedious, consuming valuable nursing time.
Methods
Digitized the CG nomination process using electronic forms and QR codes linked to FormSG; employed a hybrid trial approach.
Results
Reduced CG nomination processing time, achieving 35% fewer hardcopy forms and saving 13 hours 20 minutes of nursing time.
Conclusion
Electronic forms provide a sustainable solution for administrative processes, enabling better use of staff time for patient care.
Lessons Learnt
Digitalization of workflows improves efficiency, reduces administrative burdens, and enhances patient and caregiver experiences.
