Aims
Increase psychology therapy slot utilization to 75% by June 2021.
Background
Utilization was only 59% (Nov 2020–Jan 2021), leading to 356 unutilized slots and long patient wait times.
Methods
Implemented discharge policies, standardized communications, and a Short Notice List for cancellations.
Results
Utilization rate improved to 70.7% (July 2021); no-show rates decreased from 29.6% to 25.7%.
Conclusion
Interventions successfully improved slot utilization and reduced no-show rates.
Lessons Learnt
Identifying and monitoring processes is essential; sustainability requires collaboration from all stakeholders.
