Aims
Reduce time for data entry and errors to make results available in NEHR/COVID Test Registry.
Background
Manual data entry for COVID-19 test results caused delays and errors during external operations.
Methods
Enabled mass upload of patient data using Excel files, interfaced with systems for automated lab orders.
Results
Saved 923.4 hours annually (55,404 mins); eliminated data errors (0% error rate) for 9,234 specimens.
Conclusion
Replacing manual data entry with automation ensured faster, more reliable COVID-19 test reporting.
Lessons Learnt
Automation significantly improved efficiency, reduced errors, and enabled accurate result processing.
