Poor oral cleanliness in dysphagia patients increases the risk of aspiration pneumonia and requires attention during speech therapy assessments.
Methods
Root Cause Analysis to identify barriers; interventions included dental reviews, oral cleaning training, and team-based monitoring.
Results
Oral cleanliness scores maintained at 100% for over six weeks post-intervention.
Conclusion
Sustained cleanliness requires multidisciplinary teamwork and robust data monitoring.
Lessons Learnt
Leveraging existing data collection methods and team collaboration enhances care delivery and outcome tracking.
