Aims
Standardize and improve the nursing handover process using an electronic template.
Background
Traditional handovers were time-intensive, inconsistent, and prone to interruptions, leading to delays in patient care.
Methods
Developed an electronic handover template in SCM, piloted in Ward 19, and expanded based on feedback.
Results
Reduced handover time by 2 minutes per patient, saving 4,234 hours annually; 91% staff recommended its use.
Conclusion
Electronic templates standardize handovers, ensuring timely and accurate patient care information sharing.
Lessons Learnt
Effective integration of technology in nursing enhances care continuity and staff satisfaction.
