Aims
To improve attendance rates for male inmates in the PHU from 70% to 85% (stretch goal: 100%) through individualized care and engaging activities.
Background
The Psychiatric Housing Unit (PHU) provides mental health rehabilitation for inmates. Low attendance hindered program outcomes, affecting rehabilitation success.
Methods

Attendance increased from 70% to 85%, achieving the project goal. Positive engagement outcomes included fewer disruptive behaviors. Annual cost savings projected at $7,989.78.
Conclusion
Sustained individualized care plans for male PHU inmates proved effective, with considerations to expand the initiative to female PHU inmates.
